The John Finnegan Family

John Finnegan was born in County Monaghan, Ireland in 1823. His parents, probably
Thomas (born ca. 1788) and Mary (born ca. 1790) Finnegan, came to this country in
ca. 1839.

John married Ellen Brannon / Brennen sometime prior to 1850, probably in
Richland County, Ohio. The Brennen Family is also among the early settlers in
this part of Sharon Township, and also Auburn Twp. in Crawford County. John and
Ellen were the parents of at least 8 and possibly 9 children:

Mary Ann?
John Jr. born 1850
Richard born 1853
James born 1856
Mary E. born 1858
Thomas born 1860
Margaret A. born 1862
Matilda B. born 1864
William B. born 1869

Richard Finnegan married Sarah Viola Mott on October 23, 1877 at
the Sacred Heart Church, Bethlehem, Ohio. Sarah was a daughter of Peter Mott
and Victorene Catherine Cattey. Peter Mott immigrated from Germany and
Victorene Cattey was born in Favouris, Belfort Territory, France and
immigrated with her parents Alexis and Katherine Querry / Cattey.
(James Williamson wrote to provide this additional information on his family.)

Richard and Sarah were to become the parents of seven children:
.
Victorene Helena "Rena" born 1880 md. Joseph Francis Biglin
